AMC2023 AUCTION EVENT

The AMC2023 auction event is a kind of primary fundraiser for the congress and supports student travel and participation from abroad. Donations (50% of sale price to AMC2023) of all kinds including photos (funny photograph, beautiful fleshy fungus, fungi under microscope), books, fabrics and sculptures are accepted, and please send an e-mail for application to info.amc2023@gmail.com. So we can compile the list prior to congress.

Please bring photo entries to the congress and give them to Dr. Hye Yeon Mun (NNIBR, Korea) (outcastm@nnibr.re.kr) or put them at the auction table in BEXCO so that the materials can be arranged for the auction.

AMC2023 FORAY

Thanks for registering for the AMC2023 Foray. We will explore the fungus growing in Mt. Jang (Jangsan) (643m), approximately 10 km from BEXCO. Pickup buses will be in front of the BEXCO for a prompt check-in for departure time of 12 PM on Tuesday, 10th October (see the red mark on the map below). The foray will go on rain or shine, unless under extreme weather conditions.

If you are driving to campus, you can park either at parking lot adjacent to entry of Mt. Jang. We are providing transportation, box lunch, and laboratory facilities (microscopes, slides, etc.). A laboratory will be open in BEXCO after the foray. We will depart back for BEXCOs at approximately 5 PM (we will let you know the exact time). That should leave you plenty of time to look at some specimens, get cleaned up, and help you to observe the samples on the desk after you come back. The lab in BEXCO will be available during the meeting.You need to bring:

  1. Your favorite collecting equipment (basket, bags, camera, trowel, knife, pocket magnifying lens, notebook, and pencil)
  2. Clothing that’s appropriate for the weather
  3. Field guides

You can expect very pleasant temperatures (average 22.4 oC) during the day in October.

BUSAN CITY TOUR

There are many reasons to visit Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city. This city never sleeps, with its vibrant beaches, delectable seafood, busy marketplaces, painted village streets, and outstanding cultural attractions.

There is no better way to see a city than on a city tour by bus. The tour by bus will give you chance to travel to Busan’s most famous landmarks. This is the best way to fully discover the city if you are a first-time visitor.

The tour will show you essential attractions in the city and also give you a general understanding of how Busan is laid out. You can go to all the tourist attractions in Busan using the City Tour bus, including Gamcheon Culture Village, Taejongdae Park, Haeundae and Gwangalli Beach and many others.

Whenever you don’t have the time to figure out transportation, this is the most convenient option. You can expect very pleasant temperatures (average 22.4 oC) during the day in October.

AMC2023 MUSHROOM FARM TOUR

Visit Date and time: 12:00pm to 17:30pm on Oct 12, 2023

Please join our Mushroom Farm Tour on Oct 12, 2023 ! You’ll get a chance to visit a mushroom farm (as seen in the photos above) located in Cheongdo, Korea, situated 100 km away from the venue, BEXCO, Busan. The bus will leave at the parking lot in BEXCO at 12:00 pm on 12th and come back before 18:00pm.

The tour will provide useful information about various techniques and essential care required for successful mushroom cultivation. Please make sure to register for the Mushroom Farm Tour at on-site AMC2023 registration desk, or inform us your intention to participate in the program via AMC2023 email (info.amc2023@gmail.com) if you are intereted in the program.
