We investigated to screening of antibacterial activity of 309 isolated from freshwater environment against four human pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus CCARM3095, Escherichia coli CCARM1G440, Bacillus cereus CCARM0120, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa PA14.
Antibacterial activity tests were conducted by paper disc with each bacterial overlay media. As a result, thirteen strains showed antibacterial activity against common to all four bacteria. FBCC-F1421 and FBCC-F1506 were the high activity against S. aureus, FBCC-F1338 and FBCC-F1588 were the high activity against E. coli, and FBCC-F1412, 1417, 1421 and FBCC-F2629 were the high against P. aeruginosa more than 1000ppm of streptomycin as positive control.
